Hi, my name is Mona Alyedreessy and I am a British Arab Professional Photographer.. half Libyan, half Saudi. 26 years old. I studied a specialist BA (honours) program and and Masters in Photography and Digital Imaging in London and currently work as a professional freelance photographer in London and Jeddah. I am currently a PhD student in London studying the impacts photo-journalism has on the British Muslim media. My passion is to take photographs and be really creative and artistic with them. I will go out of my way to ensure that your photographs are creative and beautiful. I aim to produce the best quality images and service as I possibly can to ensure that your special days will be memorable. I worked as a picture editor and enhancer in a press company for 1 year and also assisted professional photographers on their shoots, as well as doing my own work.
I specialise mainly in children, product and event photography and I have been a photographer for 8 years and have captured many weddings from English weddings to Indian, Arab and North African weddings and also other cultural events. I worked in the Saudi Embassy in London as a personal and press photographer to the previous Ambassador Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud and his family, as well as for the women’s section at their events and have had the experience of taking all student photographs in the King Fahad Akademy in London.
A picture can speak 1000 words. My photography lives off this statement.
For me, it’s the photographs that speak their own words that are the most beautiful and the most appealing. Although I love some of the classic portrait albums I have seen from a photographic point of view, they do not speak to me like a photo-journalistic album does. To me they are just the same series of different pretty faces with no story or emotions behind them. I seek the shots that express emotions so my photographs have a sentimental value to them for the subjects being photographed. I love beautiful things and I believe they deserve to be photographed beautifully. I carefully edit the selection of images and choose the images that “talk” and successfully communicate the emotions and feelings of the bride, for example, or the groom on their wedding day, to keep as precious memories of what should be – the first and most beautiful event to celebrate the start of their life together. The images of the groom gazing at his bride when no one is looking (or when he thinks no one is looking
), the tight hand-holding during the zaffa, the excitement of the ring exchange, or the smile on her face when he sees his bride for the first time and tells her how lovely she looks are priceless. My event photography in particular is more than just a series of portraits, it’s a whole story being told in a series of photographs that bring back the emotions of the day from start to finish. They are then printed into a beautiful and luxurious fairy-take style book for you to keep and show your children one day inshallah. I am an artist at heart, in mind and behind the lens and being creative with photography is my way of expressing myself and my art. Many clients whose events I have photographed end up being long term friends, as I photograph the children they have and their sisters weddings etc. I love my work because I meet beautiful people and I enjoy it very much. Photography is my passion and I am always looking at new ways to improve on my skills and creativity to create even more beautiful images for you.
My style of photography ranges from documentary to romantic portraiture. Most of my wedding albums that I produce tell a fairy-tale story of the special day, from start to finish in a photo documentary style. It is up to the client which style of photography they would prefer. Some clients only wish to have portraits taken, while others may opt for the documentary photo book style. I am very flexible with requirements. With the documentary photo package I do not miss out any moments or any details. I like to focus on the small details also, as much thought has been put into them, so I make sure that they are all captured beautifully into a book of lovely memories of the day.
I’d like to introduce a different style of wedding and event photography to Saudi Arabia especially and I have different wedding and other packages for you to choose from. Please feel free to book an appointment so that you can view the price brochure and my fabulous collection of different photo products!
Please note that photographs are all kept private and are only used in my face book group/website/portfolio to show other prospective clients with your full permission (hence why I do not have many images of people online). Please visit my blog for more info.
